The experience
Sardinia is an island rich in history and culture, and its language is a key part of this heritage. The Sardinian language is a Romance language, closely related to Italian, but with its own characteristics that make it unique.
There are several dialects of the Sardinian language, which differ in pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. The main dialects are Campidanese, spoken in the southern part of the island, and Logudorese, spoken in the northern part.
The Sardinian language workshop is a unique experience to discover this linguistic heritage. The workshop is aimed at all those who have Sardinian ancestry and wish to deepen their knowledge of the language of their ancestors.
The workshop lasts 2 hours and consists of three phases:
Step 1: Introduction to the Sardinian language
At this stage, you can learn the basics of the Sardinian language, its origins, characteristics and dialects. You will discover that the Sardinian language is an ancient language, dating back to Roman times; it is also a rich and complex language with its own grammar and vocabulary.
Step 2: Deepening the dialect of the area of origin
At this stage, you will go into more detail about the dialect of your family’s area of origin. You will be able to share your knowledge and experiences. You will learn to pronounce dialect words correctly, learn grammar and vocabulary, and understand the meaning of common expressions.
Step 3: Sardinian language practice
At this stage, you will have the opportunity to practice the Sardinian language naturally and informally. Together with the other participants, you will be able to practice the knowledge gained in the previous stages and improve your ability to communicate in the Sardinian language.
By the end of the workshop, you will have gained a basic knowledge of the Sardinian language and dialect of your home area, thus rediscovering the language of your roots.

The Sardinian language workshop is an experience of sharing and growth, where you will have the opportunity to meet people with the same background as you and share your experiences with them.
The workshop will also be an opportunity to learn more about yourself and your roots.
