The Municipality of Nurri participates in the ITALEA project by celebrating 2024, the year of Italian Roots in the World, and invites you to rediscover your roots!
During the celebrations in honor of the co-patron saint Santa Rosa da Viterbo, from August 31 to September 5, through the Roots Workshops and cultural identity events dedicated to Nurrian emigrants and the community, we will accompany you on a journey to learn about and explore the importance of roots.

Mario Paffi, regional coordinator for Sardinia of the PNRR ITALEA project Tourism of Roots, presents the project, and in a dialogue shared with the audience, authors and scholars of Nurri Anna Marcialis and Angelo Bandino intervene, with the valuable testimony of Enea Mulas, president of the Circolo Sardo Nàrada of Campi Bisenzio (FI) Nurri paese dei fantini: Unveiling of the plaque honoring the jockeys native and originating from Nurri, who bring prestige to the country with their internationally recognized feats

How to get there

Nurri can be reached by car from Cagliari, the regional capital, via the SS131, direction Sassari until km 22 when it turns to the SS128, direction Senorbì to then take the SS198 direction Seui-Lanusei and then provincial road 10, towards Nurri, for a total journey of ca. 50'. Collective public transportation operates daily from Cagliari, reaching Nurri in ca. 2h, passing through several inland villages. In addition, a regional train is available on weekdays, which travels narrow-gauge, leaving from Monserrato Station, near Cagliari and reaching Mandas Station, from here one can reach Nurri, which is about 15km away, by car or other means of transport.
