The Polenta Festival was born out of the need to rediscover and enhance a food of the past, which has its roots in times long gone by virtue of the varied composition of the population living in the village.
Small History, that of Arborea’s polenta, small but significant not only for the people it draws and the people it involves in its organization but for the fact that the event is part of the initiatives that promote Arborea, its territory, its economy, and its productions.
The Festival of Arborea and our festivals recall the labors, hardships, and sufferings of a strenuous life, far away but not forgotten.
Today all this is experienced in joy with the happiness of a community that celebrates because it is proud of its historical identity and confirms with the passing of the editions the goodness of the initiative that reaches record results.
The visitors and tourists who come to Arborea on such an occasion come from the territory of Sardinia but every year there is also a large number of people who come from outside the region.and in some cases even from abroad.

How to get there
Arborea is located in the central part of Sardinia, near State Highway 131. The locality is easily accessible from all arrival areas in Sardinia. For those arriving from Cagliari port or airport follow the signs for the 131, once you reach the Statale follow the signs for Oristano. When you reach the turnoff for Terralba take the road to the town and following the signs you will arrive in Arborea, which is about 10 km away. For those coming from Olbia port or airport follow the signs that lead to the State Road enter and proceed until Abbasanta. Once in the town, follow the signs for Oristano and still on the state highway continue to Santa Giusta- Arborea. When you reach the Santa Giusta junction, follow the signs for Arborea where you will arrive after traveling about 8 km. For those arriving from Porto Torres from the port follow the signs for the 131, once you reach the Statale follow the signs for Oristano and still on the Statale continue for Santa Giusta- Arborea. When you reach the Santa Giusta junction follow the signs for Arborea where you will arrive after traveling about 8 km. From Alghero airport follow the signs leading to State Highway 131 insert and proceed to Abbasanta. Once in the town, follow the signs for Oristano and, still on the State Highway, continue to Santa Giusta- Arborea. When you reach the Santa Giusta junction, follow the signs for Arborea where you will arrive after traveling about 8 km.
