Rising on the highest hill is the ancient church of Sant’Angelo, with its majestic bell tower of compact local granite, unmistakable in its distinctive hue.
It is around this settlement, nestled in the larger greenery of the overlooking park, the forerunner of the interesting nature trails, that the festivities of the patron saint, a symbolic figure for the Osiddians as a reliable protector of their souls and their treasures, are repeated every year.
This year’s anniversary is aimed at those who have emigrated to other places, dedicating, to them in particular, artistic/cultural performances, in which local artists and/or those of Osiddese origins are directly involved, through which to remark the value of those common “roots” that increasingly unite those who have “stayed behind” with those who have had to “move away” from their homeland.
Not only the pleasant festivities, but the invitation to take the opportunity to “breathe the air of home,” participating, both in attendance and through other possible forms of outreach, to grasp the feelings of gratitude and undiminished affection that those left behind cultivate for them.
It represents another interesting source of attraction for all the urban center, rich in structures with undisputed historical and cultural value, characterized by great homogeneity and quality, both in terms of typology/settlement and architecture.
The great history of this ancient settlement continues to be written even in its more modern transformations, with the presence of attractive accommodations, modern sports facilities and other attractions, set in valuable environmental areas, in the presence of numerous interesting archaeological sites.
A land that also conquers with its ancient recipes and valuable local products.
