Aritzo was famous until the end of the twentieth century, for the snow trade and for the production of its famous lemon sorbet, called “Sa Carapigna.”
For several decades now, the municipal administration on August 14 and 15 has been organizing a Festival in order to make known both the Aritzese sorbet, which is offered free of charge to all visitors who flock to the mountainous areas in the summertime to enjoy the cool and healthy climate, and for a more lively knowledge of the area.
This event, although in the middle of August, is greatly attended by local artisans and hawkers from different parts of Sardinia who display products made from the raw material of the Sardinian territory.
On this occasion free lemon sorbet is offered to all visitors and tourists .
In this context and under the banner
of traditions, several folkloric events are organized with the participation of dance groups from different countries of Sardinia, and also musical and entertainment shows for adults and children.
